Lyman Elementary

January 2023

Note From Mr. McPhee

Dear Lyman Families,

I hope this letter finds your family in good spirits after the holiday season and anticipating an exciting 2023. The staff at Lyman Elementary is pleased with the progress of your children, both academically and socially. We now begin the rigorous push towards the end of the school year and preparing our students for the next grade.

When I think back to the last week before the winter break, I have fond memories of the great performance our students put on at the Winter Concert at CMS. We have great students and singers! A big thank you to Mrs. Kincaid in leading our students in holiday cheer and songs.

As you plan your month, please note that there is no school on Monday, January 16 in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday.

There is a Lyman parent group meeting this month on January 10 at 6PM in the library. Please come out and support our school through your participation in the parent group.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our parent group for hosting the craft day on December 2. Over 50 students created holiday crafts for their families and friends. It was a fun event for all students and volunteers.

I would also like to thank the parent group for their generous donations to our school these past months. Their donations have gone to support The North Cascades Mountain School for the fifth graders and the holiday gifts for everyone. We deeply appreciate everything that the parent group does for our school. The LPG rocks!

There is never a day that goes by that I do not sing the praises of Lyman Elementary. It is a great school and a great community. Thank you for all your support for our students and their education.

Sincerely,

Scott A. McPhee
