Boone School Family Newsletter

February 2016 Online Edition

Principal's Message

Dear Families and Friends of Boone School,

Thank you so much to all of you who were able to come out and support our Chicago Cares and Boone School Day of Service on January 16th! We had over 150 volunteers including students, parents, staff, and volunteers from Target come to Boone to paint, clean, and work on projects to improve the school.

I also want to recognize a group of Boone students who have formed the Boone Cares Club this year. This group gathers weekly to give back to our community by helping with cleaning and other school beautification projects. This group was also instrumental in planning a successful service day this year, and I'm so proud of all their hard work and effort! I continue to encourage all students to think about ways that you can "Work Hard & Be Kind" and give back to our community on a daily basis. Let's keep Boone looking and feeling great!

Meet Boone's New Music Teacher, Ms. Chamberlain!

Hello Boone Families! I am so excited to be joining the Boone team as the new music teacher. I went to Elmhurst College for music education and was trained in all instruments. In my class, students will learn to appreciate different types of music, play many different instruments, sing, and also learn how to read music. I look forward to teaching here at Boone, and I hope you will stop by to say hello!
