"A Southern Speakeasy"
Tickets on sale the evening of the event.
The Jackson Symphony will be hosting an extraordinary fundraising event, “A Southern Speakeasy”, on Saturday, January 23rd at 7pm in the historic Gold Room, located on the 2nd floor of The New Southern Hotel!
The Night won’t be no caper, you’ll be benefitting the community engagement and integrative medicine programs of The Jackson Symphony. So get all dolled up and come experience the Parlour Tricks.
The Parlour Tricks was voted the Best Pop Band in New York City by the renowned weekly publication, The Village Voice, the New Yorker’s guide to news, music, movies, culture, restaurants and events in New York City. The 2014 review indicated the Band has “lovely three-part harmonies so big and bold and powerful they could knock down buildings. Thankfully the sextet has decided to instead use its powers for good, and on songs like the slinky, sexy "Lovesongs" and swagtastic "Requiem" you'll find them in spades: punchy, infectious, danceable rhythms, clean guitar, dirty synth, and heavenly voices. The sound is a little bit '50s-era swing mixed in with '90s alt-nostalgia, but it manages to remain thoroughly modern. (Spotify describes it as "vintage pop for the future.") I’m having trouble getting it out of my head. The group performs all over town; make sure you catch 'em.”
The evening will be full of surprises and promises to be a spectacular event, with catering of Southern foods by Gourmet Your Way, a Secret Speakeasy Room, wine and beer by The Barrel Wine and Spirits, décor by J. Kent Freeman, and many one of a kind touches. No Prohibition here, the wine and beer is included with each admission.
This fundraiser is an event that supports The Jackson Symphony ensuring that the organization can continue to be a source of artistic and educational relevance throughout West Tennessee. Come meet and shake hands with Peter Shannon, Music Director and Conductor of The Jackson Symphony.
This year’s lead sponsors include HCB Corporation, The City of Jackson, West Tennessee Healthcare, Voya Financial, and Regions Bank. Media Sponsors include The Jackson Sun, WNWS 101.5, Forever Communications, Lamar, and WBBJ.
