Sycamore Junior High Family Communication

Families,

This spirit week was FUN! Thank you to student council who helped to organize the week. We saw lots of twins, throw-backs, and silly antics with Freaky Friday switches. We are also through the bulk of scheduling for next school year. Verification sheets were added to ebackpack at 3pm today for you to review with your child. If you have any questions please reach out to directly to your counselor. Tonight and tomorrow are the final shows for Footloose. Go check it out! Our students are crazy talented and the show is a great experience for all.


Next week is our final push to the end of Quarter 3. Please make sure your children are in contact with teachers if they have any questions about missing assignments, upcoming tests, or grades.

Scheduling Update

Scheduling Update

At this point in time, all Rising 8th grade students have completed their course selections for next year. This Friday evening, March 10, Course Verification Sheets will be uploaded to My eBackpack for review. This will be a list of courses that were selected for next year; actual schedules will be built over the summer. Please take a moment to review your child’s courses, and if you have any questions, you can reach out to the Junior High counselors for assistance.

In addition, any Course Adjustment Request (CAR) forms are due no later than April 10th. These forms only apply to the following courses: Language Arts Honors, History Honors, and Science Honors. If needed, the CAR form can be found here and is also available on the District website: Junior High → Counseling → Course Adjustment.


If you want to drop down a course or change to an elective course, no form is needed, and you can email that request to your child’s counselor no later than April 10th.

AIR TESTING

Air Testing at the Junior High will be in mid-April, and we are asking families to ensure student attendance on these days (see below). Students who are absent on an AIR testing day will have the opportunity to make up the test, but only within a short window of time, and will miss class time to do so.

  • ELA AIR testing: April 11, 12
  • Math AIR testing: April 19, 20
  • Science AIR testing (8th only): April 25

The deadline for ordering for your SJHS yearbook has been extended to March 17, 2023. A very limited amount of extras will be available for purchase, and they sell out fast. The only way to guarantee your copy of the yearbook is to pre-order TODAY. The cost is $35/copy. Click HERE to order your 2023 Yearbook.


Do you have photos you would like to submit to the Yearbook Club? Click HERE and find the “Submit Photos Here” button (you must use a school Gmail account to access the shared folder). We want to represent ALL students in this year's historic yearbook.
