MacArthur 4K News

January 18th, 2016

This Week in 4K:

  • We will be doing another Nursery Rhyme, Hickory Dickory Dock, this week. We have a chart that we will be reading each day during our circle time so that we get to know the words really well. We will also be doing an art project on Wednesday and will be reading and coloring a paper book that will go home on Thursday in the book bags. Please return the book in the bag next week.
  • I will be doing PALS testing like I did in the fall this week and next week. I will share the information with you in a report that will go home in a few weeks. The skills tested on PALS are: upper/lower case letter recognition, name writing, letter sounds, rhyming, beginning sounds, and concepts about books.
  • We will be doing journal writing on Thursday and will continue to work on drawing a picture with details and adding some labels to our pictures (beginning sounds of words or beginning and ending sounds). Please encourage drawing and writing at home.

Upcoming Dates...

  • Monday, January 18th - No School 4K-5th grade.
  • Scholastic Book Orders are due on Thursday, January 21st.

We are collecting sports-themed items for our basket. Please see the note in Monday's folder for more information. Thank you to those who have already donated items!
