Check out our first Innovation Lab task...engineer a spacecraft using 10 resources and 10 pieces of tape:

Let's Innovate!

We are excited to offer an Innovation Lab for all students on early release Wednesdays in the Quest classrooms. This is offered on a 3 week rotation which kicked off last week week. Students will learn about the Engineering Process and work with teams to complete a challenge activity during their first rotation. Future rotations will incorporate STEM materials and tie into grade level TEKS.

Fun Run is Thursday!

The Fun Run is on Thursday during your child's Specials time. This event is not open to spectators.

Thanks, PTA, for bringing the fun to our campus and raising this money to support our school. PTA is planning to help with the resurfacing of our track, support our Innovation Lab with technology additions, and support our teacher classroom enrichment efforts.

Staffing News

We are excited to add an additional staff member to our team. We have added a part-time dyslexia specialist to support RPE, Mrs. Noreen Kennedy! Mrs. Kennedy moved to Round Rock from Ireland 18 years ago. She has 14 years of teaching experience and was most recently the Reading & Dyslexia Specialist at Meridian World School. We are happy to have her join Mrs. Artuz in serving our students with dyslexia.

We are sad to see our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Land, leave River Place Elementary. Mrs. Land has done an outstanding job as Assistant Principal at RPE for the past 5 years. She has decided that she misses being in the classroom and will be transitioning to Akin Elementary to teach 3rd grade. She will be closer to home and will have more time to focus on her family. Her last day at RPE is this Friday. We hope to set up interviews early next week, and we will update families on her replacement ASAP.

Early Release Wednesdays

We release at 1:25 this week on Wednesday...don't forget!
