Tribute To MRHS's Own Dan Brady - Good Luck Dan on Your Next Venture!
MRHS STAND made another pilgrimage to Washington DC March 25-27 to learn about genocide and mass atrocities and to lobby our legislators.
In addition to a conference with STAND national leaders, we were able to visit the United States Holocaust Museum, the new National Museum of African American History and Culture, and other museums and monuments before spending a day on Capitol Hill discussing human rights issues with Rep. Keating and the staffs of Sens. Warren and Markey.

Disney POPS Concert HUGE Success at MRHS!
On Thursday, March 30th, the Disney POPS Concert was held at Monomoy High School. The National Art Honor Society ran a pre-concert event with face painting and activities for children, who came dressed in their favorite Disney costumes. The concert itself was a success, with performances from the concert band, choirs, and soloists. All of the performers dressed as Disney characters and visited the children before the start of the concert. *Enjoy the photos!

2016-2017 New England and Bermuda District of Key Club Educational Conference
The Monomoy Key Club attended the 68th Annual Key Club District Educational Conference (DECON) fromFriday, March 31st-Sunday, April 2nd in Springfield, MA. DECON is an annual gathering of Key Clubbers, from all over New England, to celebrate the closing of the service year and the start of a new one. Over the weekend, Key Clubbers attended workshops, participated in group events, voted for their next executive board, and received recognition of what their club has accomplished throughout the service year. The Monomoy Key Club was chartered in June 2016 and therefore did not have a full service year upon attending the conference so this was a great opportunity to learn more about Key Club as a whole, as well as some great ideas for service projects. The Monomoy Key Club received the Early Bird Award for paying our club dues early! The whole experience was a great way for our new club to see what other clubs in our district are doing and gain perspective on how our hard work helps our communities, children, families, and anyone else in need. We look forward to an incredible service year!
A shark shout out to our students who attended the conference who conducted themselves in a professional manner and were enthusiastic throughout the long weekend: Cesca Barr, Grace Boyle, Miles Boyle, Perry Comeau, Grace Drake, Lily MacAskill, Tori McCormack, Emma Norcott, Lizzy Pandiscio, Liam Prescott, Shannon Smith, Abby Sullivan, and Matt Veary. Another shark shout out to Ms. Police for helping Ms. Kelly chaperone the weekend event!

Shark "Shout Outs" MRHS's way of Appreciating the Great People That Make Our School "A Home Away From Home"
Ms. Flint's Anatomy & Physiology class would like to send a HUGE shark shout out to Mrs. Sharon Gleason! Mrs. Gleason was kind enough to talk to our class about her experience with open heart surgery in class this week. Thank you Mrs. Gleason!!
As a parent of four children in the Monomoy district, the oldest of whom is starting at Monomoy Regional High School in the fall, I attended the high school’s recent Program of Studies Night with great interest. I was extremely impressed with the depth and breadth of courses offered, and particularly with the care and thought that went into structuring the program. I also was excited to learn about some of the innovative steps the school is taking, such as the Global Studies program, the Jawsome Power Hour, and even the You Are Important wall. It’s clear that the team is creating an environment that encourages all students to succeed, and I look forward to my children being a part of that. Many thanks to Mr. Burkhead, the guidance team, and the department heads for the hard work they put in and for sharing this exciting Program of Studies in detail with the parents in attendance.

To the five extremely talented students who came to sing Happy Birthday to Ms. Girolamo on Wednesday, 4/5; Your voices are like finely tuned instruments; perfected by performing in orchestration with one another! What a joyful sound! Thank you for sharing your talent and passion/ I only wish the song was longer. (PS: Please remember my birthday is May 23!)

Special Fundraising Announcement
Good evening,
The All Sports Booster Club is having our first major fundraiser, a Mattress Sale. Come and join us for an informational session on Monday April 10th at 6:00 pm in the high school auditorium. This is going to be a fun, simple event to help support our student athletes. We are partnering with Custom Fundrasing Solutions who do all the work. We don't have to do any of the sales for this event. We just have to get as many people as possible to come visit the popup mattress "showroom" in the high school gym on May 7th.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday April 10th at 6:00 pm and we appreciate your support in making this the most successful fundraiser to date.
Thank you for your time.

Help Keep Our Community Clean- Join the 3rd Annual "Tour de Trash!"
The Town of Harwich Conservation Department and the Harwich Conservation Trust are having our 3rd annual town-wide community trash cleanup (Tour de Trash) on Saturday morning April 29th. We would love to have teams of volunteers, students or staff, from Monomoy Regional. It is a really eye-opening experience to see how much trash is on our roadsides and beaches. The flier for the event is attached, and we encourage pre-registration online (link below) especially because that way you can actually pick the route you want to do. Any questions, or if you want paper fliers to hand out, please contact me. Thank you!
