From the Desk of the Directors
We hope that everyone enjoyed a happy Thanksgiving break! We are looking forward to the many events and opportunities for Chatfield students coming up in the next few weeks.
Please make it a priority to attend the Digital Safety Event coming up on the evening of December 3. There are even prizes! This is so important for our children. Please feel free to invite guests from the community.
Are you looking for gift ideas for kids? Here are a few ideas that Chatfield students enjoyed from Math and Reading Game Night:
WordPlay for Kids
Even Steven's Odd
Clumsy Thief
Wordical
Spot-It
A Crazy Coin Counting Game
Speedy Words

Sequence for Kids
Be sure to read the description of the games before you purchase as some are more apporpriate for younger children while others are fun for older children to adults.
We encourage you to get involved in the many events happening here at Chatfield. Please help out! From archery and basketball or PIE Santa Shop, band concerts, and Treat Street we need and want your help and involvement!
Fight for Equity in School Funding
Last week Mr. Young and a small group from Chatfield met with Senator Kevin Daley during his office hours . The team did an excellent job advocating for our school. Please continue to email Kevin Daley's office. Encourage him to break from the party line and support the charter school students. He said several times that he has been hearing from a lot of you. Keep the pressure up.
Please continue to contact your legislators and governor-even if you already have. They need to hear continuously from you. Follow this link for more information about how you can be involved: Support Charters. For government contact information see the letter posted in this newsletter. Thank you for your continued support.

Community Partnership

Giving Tuesday
Make your donation to the Unfundraiser this Giving Tuesday! Our two main fundraisers for PIE are the Bike Rodeo and the Unfundraiser, and we do each every other year. The Unfundraiser is to help offset the amount of volunteer time and asking for donations or selling things that other fundraisers involve. Please see the flyer in this newsletter for more information.
HERE IT COMES: THE P.I.E. UN-Fundraiser! Please support!
I really don't want to awkwardly ask my friends, family and coworkers AGAIN if they want to buy more wrapping paper, candy or cookie dough. I don't really want to let children wash my car and then have to go wash it again myself. I don't even bake for my family, so I don't really wantto bake for a fundraiser. I don't want to walk, swim or run in any activity that has the word 'thon' in it.
We're right there with you! This year, PIE is hoping to raise only the amount of money that we plan to spend this year, and then throw an even bigger and better bike rodeo next year to fuel two year's worth of projects again. In order to do this, we decided the best way to maintain our account balance would be to do an un-fundraiser... This would be in lieu of sending students home with the task of selling door to door, collecting money and delivering goods. Please help us avoid that by supporting PIE with your donation, and helping us achieve our goals to support our students and faculty.
There is not an official "due date" on this un-fundraiser. Some families may wish to send their donation in right away. Others may choose to wait until after the holidays. However, you decide, please decide to participate! We would appreciate all donations made by March or April. Donations from other families members like grandparents are also accepted. A thank you letter for tax purposes will be provided.
Please see the flyer below for details on how to make your contribution to the UN-fundraiser. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS ONLY FOR PIE, AND DOES NOT TAKE THE PLACE OF FUNDRAISERS FOR BAND AND / OR MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASS TRIPS.
Archery is Starting Up!

Wee Dolphins Program Has Openings!
Have you heard about our Wee Dolphins program? Wee Dolphins is a place for preschool-age children ages 3-5 years old to come and learn pre-reading skills, early math skills, science, and art. We also spend our days playing with friends and developing socially. We endeavor to have a balance of teacher guided academic centers along with play based/hands on learning experiences to give children a great start to their education. We also get to participate in all that Chatfield has to offer, including visiting the Willows, attending music class, playing in the gym, and enjoying the library with Mrs. Neuman. For more information, and to get your child enrolled, please email Alicia Kluck at alikluck@chatfieldschool.org, or call our ext. 222.
