Wilson Hill Performs well on State Report Card
This week Ohio released their annual School Report Cards. These reports provide information on the progress of schools and district in raising achievement and preparing students for the future. I wanted to give a huge shoutout to the entire staff at Wilson Hill as our school performed very well. We received the highest rating (5 out 5) in three of the four categories (Achievement, Progress, and Gap Closing) and 4 out 5 stars in the category of Early Literacy. You can view more details by clicking the link below, and then selecting "Wilson Hill." I'm extremely proud of the work our staff is doing with our students here at Wilson Hill.
Start with Hello Week
Each year, thousands of schools and youth organizations nationwide participate in Start With Hello Week, a national call-to-action week dedicated to making new social connections and creating a sense of belonging among youth. Worthington Schools is participating in this wonderful event. Start With Hello is a Sandy Hook Promise Program that teaches students to be more socially inclusive and connected to each other. Wilson Hill will have daily activities and challenges that our students can complete to end social isolation and build community.
Monday September 19th: Meet Somebody New Monday!
- Monday’s challenge is to learn the name of someone you don’t know. This could be someone in your class, someone on your bus, someone at lunch, or even a teacher or staff member that you don’t know yet.
Tuesday September 20th: Take Time To Say Hello Tuesday
- Making someone’s day bright isn’t very hard. Your challenge is to take the time to stop, look and listen to three of your classmates. This means stop what you’re doing, look them in the eyes, and listen to what they’re saying.
Wednesday September 21st: Worldly Ways To Say Hello Wednesday
- Did you know at Wilson Hill, there are students from at least 10 countries that speak 10 different languages? According to the Columbus Dispatch in our school district we have 700 students who were born outside the US and they come from more than 85 countries. Worthington Students come from more than 55 language backgrounds that have been identified, and they can speak about 115 other languages. That's amazing!
Thursday September 22nd: Think About It Thursday
- The challenge is to think about how a simple hello can brighten someone’s day. Remember, words matter and we all have the power to make the world a better place! REMEMBER:STUDENTS ARE TO WEAR GREEN ON FRIDAY!
Friday September 23rd: Fun Ways To Say Hello Friday!
- The challenge is to come up with a new fun way to say hello! Since Mrs. Hegerty is a Stranger Things Fan, she came up with Sup, White Tiger Brochachos! What is your way to greet others? Have fun and thank you for participating in Start with Hello Week!
- Everyone is invited to wear GREEN!

Wilson Hill Language/Culture Family Survey
Dear Wilson Hill Parents and Families!
One thing we are very proud of at Wilson Hill is our diversity! For the purposes of this survey, we are particularly interested in the linguistic diversity of our school.
We are really excited to learn about all of the languages spoken by our students and families. We would appreciate it if you could fill out this survey even if English is the only language spoken in your home. We want to get a complete picture of all the languages spoken at Wilson Hill! The last question gives you the opportunity to share about celebrations and traditions you share within your family. We look forward to learning about these too.
Please consider taking a few minutes to answer this short survey. We look forward to sharing your answers (in graph format--no names will be mentioned) with all of you soon!
