Week 1 of WKCE is done!
Thank you for your continued support in your child's education! I am having a great time learning with your children! Have a great weekend!

Here's What's Been Happening In Our Classroom!
We've been really focusing on our "Tone of voice" when speaking to others, especially when we're frustrated/annoyed about something. I have been encouraging the students to make sure that they are aware of their tone when asking something of another student. Remind your student about his/her "tone" at home as well, and make them aware of when it needs to be adjusted to sound respectful. Thanks!
Science: We have finished discussing control systems and tested today!
Reading: Your child has been working hard on his/her comprehension or accuracy strategies. We are working on being accountable and using strategies automatically. When you see your student writing notes on sticky notes/iPad that means they're checking for understanding or word collecting while reading!
WtW: No sort this week!
Writing: We're diving into the components of writing a personal narrative. This week we talked about grabbing our audiences attention by setting the scene. Your student is writing about a time he/she got hurt. This is a great way to get them writing about something that stands out to them!
S.S. Next week we're starting to learn about the history/culture/current status of Native Americans of Wisconsin
We're reading a book in class called Stolen Children and practicing our comprehension strategies as Mrs. Zavernik reads each day. Ask your child about this book and what is happening..
