Grade 7 Science News
Grade 7 Science
Students have been learning about the great variety of energy forms and ways in which energy transformations make everything we do possible! Using some hands-on activities and interactive simulations, they will begin to investigate thermal energy and the ways in which it is transferred over the next few weeks. If you want to explore the topic with your child, here are a few videos and interactive links.
Mrs. Rose's Math News
Students in Mrs. Rose’s 7th grade pre-algebra classes have been learning about algebraic expressions and equations. Students have been working hard to show the steps in solving equations. They are applying what they have learned to real life situations through word problems. Students have been given a lot of practice through online games such as Kahoot, Jeopardy, and Legends of Learning. They have also practiced with Big Ideas and IXL. Please encourage your child to watch the videos and read the notes that have been put into google classroom for all topics. All students have the opportunity to practice old, current, and future skills in IXL anytime to build a stronger foundation in math. We are looking forward to solving inequalities very soon. Thank you for all the support and encouragement you have given to your child. It is very much appreciated.
News from the School Nurse
In order for me to maintain up to date health records, whenever your child has a physical exam by his/her doctor please make sure that I get a copy of the exam and immunization record.
I want to take this time to thank you for your diligence in monitoring your children and keeping them home from school when they are sick, letting the school know when they are sick, following advice to get them tested for COVID, and following return to school guidelines after testing, travel or close contact. I would really appreciate it if you continue to persevere and be diligent in your efforts to help keep all of our students, staff and school families as safe and healthy as possible. Please let me know if there are ways I can support you in doing this.
