Our College and Career Counseling department is pleased to announce that "Counselor's Corner" will become the monthly newsletter for our department! The newsletter will come out the last week of each month and will be sent by email and posted on our website and social media. On the newsletter we will include important information, deadlines and summaries of event we had during the month. Thank you for letting us be a part of your road to college!

Save the Event: FAFSA Sessions by COLLEGE HUB
FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid which is a MUST for your student to get financial aid for both community and 4 year colleges. It opens on October 1st. And, we recommend our students to complete the application as soon as possible.
College Hub is organizing FAFSA workshops to help students and parents fill out the application. Please see the dates below, we will send the links to students emails.

Dear 8th-12th Grade Students
8th Grade: Campus Engagement Coordinator will have monthly visits in all 8th grade social studies classes to help you with high school transitioning.
9th thru 12th Grade: Your College and Career Counseling courses will be during L0. Your counselors will contact you.

SCHOOLINKS FOR 8TH THRU 12TH GRADERS
Schoolinks is a college and career readiness platform that empowers students. We would love to see all of our students to engage themselves with Schoolinks and do the tasks pertaining to their grade level.
SchooLinks app is inside the CLEVER app at the student dashboard. It will move it from the CLEVER app to the portal eventually.

Please encourage students to do their best in this assessment as it will be used for Pre-AP / AP placement and Dual credit readiness benchmarks.
This will be a good SAT practice for you. Also, please keep in mind that this is a scholarship application!
NMSQT stands for the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. This is how you get qualified for the National Merit Scholarship.

As the College and Career Counseling team, we would love to schedule a virtual home visit with your student and your family. Home visits are a great way to get to know each other outside of the educational setting and we would love to meet with all of you!
