FASTLANE STARTS MONDAY, JANUARY 11TH! - CAR RIDER PARENTS READ THIS!
BSE is excited to implement the safest car rider line in Indianapolis! Beginning Monday, January 11th all parents who enter the CAR RIDER line will need to go to schooldismissalmanager.com on their phone and log-in as normal. After logging in parents who pick up will see a button that says "check in". Parents will tap that button and follow the directions.
How is this safer? ONLY cars and parents in cars that are legally able to pick-up students will be allowed to access the FASTLANE code for the day. NO CODE, NO PICK-UP!
When the parent enters the pick-up zone a FASTLANE sign will PROMPT to enter the code. This sends an immediate note to the staff inside to release your child to the holding zone. Once all students are in the holding zone, they will release to cars like normal. As new cars enter the loading zone they will enter their code and we will load kids in the order of the FASTLANE prompt.
It is VERY important to NOT enter your code until you reach the sign, if you do so your child will be out of order and you WILL have to park or wait for the process to catch up to you.
Thanks for helping us with this new process and for being flexible the first week as we get used to the system. Safer is better and this system is the safest I have used in my 20 years of loading students into cars!

BSE is offering the opportunity for 4th grade students to participate in a school spelling bee this year. Details on when, where, and how the spelling bee will be conducted will be announced soon. Students have been given study lists if they choose to participate.

The BSE school winner will proceed to a local county spelling bee. This date in February is still to be determined.
The following dates/times are optional practice opportunities:
Tues., Jan. 19th 3:45-4:15 Thurs., Jan. 21st 3:45-4:15

National Winnie the Pooh Day Celebration, Jan. 17th
Books, cartoons, movies; Winnie the Pooh and his friends have been a childhood favorite since they were created by A.A. Milne in 1882. Winnie the Pooh came to life in these classic novels and for the third consecutive year Fishers Parks & Recreation is bringing him to Fishers for a free, National Winnie the Pooh Day celebration. Families are invited to Cumberland Park on Sunday, Jan. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. The celebration includes:
- Photo opportunities with Winnie the Pooh! Charge the batteries and don’t forget a camera, these photographs will be memories that last a lifetime.
- Opportunities to play inside. Let’s face it, January weather is tricky. Indoor activities will include coloring pages, table top games and light refreshments to enjoy while warming up.
- A.A. Milne’s characters also brought to life Pooh Sticks, and families will have the chance to play Winnie the Pooh’s favorite game on the bridge. Outdoor activities also feature the chance to build an Eeyore House from sticks, explore animal artifacts and books to enjoy at the 100 Acre Wood story nook.

Response-to-Instruction (RtI)
RtI is a general education initiative designed to provide high quality instruction and interventions matched to student needs, and using learning rate over time and level of performance to make important educational decisions. The RtI model is based on a three-tiered model of service delivery with a focus on early intervention and prevention of academic and behavioral concerns. Data collected during this process provides valuable information regarding students’ educational progress and response to interventions. Students who do not demonstrate a response to well-implemented, scientifically-based interventions at the Tier 3 level would be referred for an educational evaluation to determine eligibility for special education. RtI is a component of HSE’s Child Find Process.
