MORE WAYS TO BE GREAT DAWGS!
Aquin Blood Drive on December 7
Aquin Servant Leaders are hosting a Blood Drive in cooperation with the Rock River Valley Blood Center. The RRVBC bus will be in the Aquin High School Parking lot from 8:00am-2:00pm on Thursday, December 7. You can call Aquin High School to sign up at 815-235-3154 x 230. Walk-ins are welcome. First-time donors need to bring a photo ID with their date of birth. Students who are 16 years old will need signed parental consent forms. Students who donate blood or have someone donate in their name will receive a free JEAN DAY on Friday, December 15.
New this year . . . RRVBC is offering coupons to all donors on the day of the drive for “1 free game of bowling for you & up to 5 friends”. The coupon can be redeemed at any of these area bowling centers: B&B Park Bowl, The Cherry Bowl, Don Carter Lanes, Park Lanes, Forrest Hills, 4 Seasons, Concordia Lanes, Dodge Lanes, T-Byrd Lanes, Plum Hollow, and Town & Country.
Please be a hero, donate blood . . . and then plan a bowling party over Christmas break!
Socks for Stephenson County
Did you know socks are one of the most sought after essentials during cold weather. By donating new socks of any size, families in need in Stephenson County will be able to have warm socks this winter. Last year close to 1,500 pairs were donated to the Freeport Salvation Army.
Socks of any size can be turned in to Aquin by Friday, December 15 or to the Stephenson County Farm Bureau Office by Wednesday, December 20. Questions about this wonderful community campaign, can be directed to Brittani DeVries at 815-235-2165 or aitc@stephensoncfb.org or go to www.facebook.com/stephensoncocap.
If you know of someone who needs a new pair of socks, go to the Freeport Salvation Army and pick up a pair after the drive has ended – no questions asked!
Santa's Elves Needed!
It is not necessary to buy expensive gifts. If you have $20 to spend, it would be better to buy 4 smaller gifts to help make sure that all children have a gift to open.
Drop your donations at either campus and we'll be sure to get them in Santa's bag!
