Message From Mrs. Robertson
Welcome to the weekend!
We hope that you have been able to celebrate the small moments that bring you joy and spark excitement this week. Over the past five weeks of distance learning I have found joy in so many small moments and want to share some of them with you. Here are just a few!
- video messages from students showing their athletic skills
- photos of families taking a walk together during a break
- robot artwork made from recycled materials
- voices of students during calls home
- smiles from students in Google Meets
- emails from families expressing their appreciation for the staff
All of these examples come from you, our students, parents, and community. It is these small moments that spark joy and excitement for me. These are the joy that is CMES!
Yours in Education,
Kimberly Robertson

Let's Spread Some Joy Next Week
Preparing for Next School Year
We are beginning the process of class groupings for the 2020-2021 school year and would like to give you the opportunity to share some information that you would like for us to consider related to your child. This consideration form is for you, as parents, to relate specific information about your child that you feel would be beneficial in assisting our team in determining next year's placements. Completing this form is optional. We will not take specific teacher requests. Please complete one form for each of your children by May 15th. As always, we pay careful attention to parent input when making decisions as well as considering factors related to student personalities and learning styles, academics, special education/intervention services and information from previous teachers and school counselor. This is a collaborative process and we appreciate your feedback.

Printed Packets
We will have a limited number of paper packets available next week on Monday, May 4, 5 and 6. Pick up times will be between 10-2 each day. You can pick up a packet in the bins located outside the front doors during these times. In order to help keep our staff safe we have moved to this delivery method. Due to guidance from the Maryland State Health Department, we are not accepting completed print materials here at school. We encourage you to take a picture of the completed work or scan the work and send to your child's teacher. During 4th term which began Monday, April 13, teachers will continue to grade student work. Student grades will be calculated as outlined in the FOF that was sent on Friday, April 17 and a letter referencing the grading policy will be included in third term report grades. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can assist you.
