Principal's Message
The quote above is such a good reminder and I certainly hope all of you were able to do just that over break!! The next couple of weeks will bring a lot of information and change. The good news is that we are all experts at both of those now!!!! When things get overwhelming, I hope that all of us remember to take the advice above! đ
On Wednesday morning, I will be sharing information about what in-person and remote learning will look like beginning on April 13th. This will include general schedules as well as an FAQ document.
Please make sure to read below about our 20-21 Peterson Yearbook and as always, please reach out if you have questions!
Best,
Alli Landstrom
Monday and Tuesday Schedule Reminders
Please don't forget that on Monday, April 5th, there is no school for students. It is a Remote Planning Day. On Tuesday, April 6th, all students will participate remotely. The building is closed due to elections, so we will not have any students come to the building on the 6th. We will follow the same schedule that is currently in place. The in-person students will participate remotely from 9:00-11:30 with their classroom teacher and our remote students will participate from 12:30-3:30 with their classroom teacher. Specials schedule will remain the same.

20-21 Peterson Yearbook
Together with tremendous help from our PTA, we will have a yearbook this year!!!! The cost of the yearbook will be $16 and the yearbooks will be delivered to the school before the end of the year. Below is the link to purchase a yearbook.
The yearbook will contain portraits of students in their classes, âclubâ photos, and lots of candids specific to a grade level and general. Please do not include photos of teams or groups of children from outside our school. We cannot include photos of children who do not attend Peterson. Please see the link below for more information!

Self-Certification Required Before Coming to School
Parents need to use ParentVUE to self-certify that students coming on campus are free of COVID-like symptoms before students arrive at school each day. When you log in to ParentVUE, you will see a screen asking you to self-certify that your child is symptom-free. This video explains the simple process of how to complete this step. If this step is not completed and your child is at school, a health services staff member will call you to discuss your child's health status.
Please note, if you are using the ParentVUE app to self-certify, you need to make sure you are using the most updated version and are logged in. If you have any difficulties with the app, please use the desktop version to complete self-certification.
The self-certification prompt will appear each day you login to ParentVUE, regardless of your childâs schedule for in-person learning. You only need to complete this step on the days your child will be at school.
Here is a helpful way to self-certify:
- Go to your search engine (Google, Safari....)
- Type in "parent vue 204"
- Click the first link that pulls up (it should have the title 'Edupoint Education systems' as part of the link).
- Click on the link and it will have you sign in and the first thing that will pop up after you sign-in is the self-certify questions.
We ask that you please monitor your child's health closely and keep them home if they aren't feeling well. You can report your child's absence using ParentVUE after completing the self-certification process.
Welcome Class of 2034

News from the LMC
Curbside Book Pick-Up:
- Did you know that Peterson LMC has been providing contactless Curbside Book Pick-Up since October? The LMC will continue to do this for the rest of the school year. Additionally, we are also going to deliver books to classrooms for our In-Person learners too! Reading is so important to learning. The more practice students get, the better they are at reading! We want to give students as many opportunities as possible to find books that they enjoy!
- Below you will find a flyer for the process. A video is also within the flyer. The video explains the process and shows students how to place holds through our online catalog that all students have access to through the SSO.
- It's simple, safe, and contactless! Please know that when books are returned, they are quarantined and then cleaned before being put back into circulation! Please see the attached flyer. If you have any questions, please reach out to me with questions via email: ann_schimmoler@ipsd.org It is my hope that your child uses this process to select books from the LMC. We have a library of books waiting to be read! :) ~ Mrs. Schimmoler
