UCISD Staff eNews & Events...Week of August 12, 2019
Congratulations to the Uvalde High School Team who are the UCISD Staff Volleyball Tournament Champions!
The event was a great time filled with Coyote & Lobo Pride! Thank you to all who participated.
Who needs outside trainers when we have the best here at UCISD?
Our amazing technology coaches served UHS and MJH as presenters for this week’s iPad training. One coach was not able to attend, so Michael Moreno stepped up and joined the team!

UCISD Stuff the Bus - A Great Success
Once again the Uvalde community has stepped up to the plate for UCISD students! The 2019 Stuff the Bus campaign was a huge success, thanks to the many businesses and individuals who participated in this year's event. The ongoing support we have received from strong community partners has been phenomenal and we are overwhelmed by their support and generosity. In addition to our returning partners, we welcomed a few new sponsors to Stuff the Bus in 2019. Many thanks to the Uvalde Area Chamber of Commerce, Uvalde Memorial Hospital, Clear Springs Cancer Center, El Progresso Memorial Library, HEB, Walmart, Hondo National Bank, First State Bank, Medina Electric, Texas Home Furnishings, Uvalde County Courthouse, Uvalde Leader-News, Uvalde Police Department, Uvalde County Sheriff's Department, Community Health Development, Inc., St. Philips Episcopal Church, and Rushing-Estes-Knowles for their incredible donations. A special thanks to Vulcan Materials for participating as our title sponsor again this year. Their ongoing support makes this campaign possible. Additionally, UCISD would like to thank KVOU radio for highlighting Stuff the Bus on-air through PSA's and live broadcasts during the month of July. Thanks to the combined efforts and generosity of all sponsors, UCISD students will begin their school year with the supplies they need to succeed!

Driver Record Checks for all District Employees Using White Fleet Vehicles
This year Mr. Lee would like for driver record checks to be done at the beginning of the school year for all district employees that anticipate using a white fleet vehicle during the 2019-2020 school year. Conducting the driver record checks ahead of time will assure that we have no delays in approving the use of district vehicles, as it relates to our liability insurance.
Any district employee planning to utilize a district vehicle is to scan/email a copy of the front of their driver's license directly to Diana Olvedo-Karau for processing.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Diana Olvedo-Karau, UCISD Transportation Secretary, 830-333-7003 Ext. 1060.
