The Corruption of Power

The Corruption of Power

“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” ~Lord Acton. Governments can become corrupt, and kingdoms can be overthrown, not only from the outside, but from the highest levels. For instance, Stalin led Russia out of the dictatorship, but eventually he and his leaders became what they wanted to abolish.

In Animal Farm Napoleon and the pigs led the animals on the farm to overcome the harshness from the man, Mr.Jones. As the years go on, Napoleon and his pigs become what they tried to overcome. They became like man. Eventually Napoleon had decided to give the farm back to man.
Currently, the FBI has more than 2,500 open public corruption cases, an increase of more than 50 percent since 2003. During the past two years alone, more than 18,000 public officials have been convicted., 4/17/08
It is time to act, either we act now or it’s our children’s debt. Popular sovereignty, a nation founded on God, the constitution, they were all things our government was founded on. We need a smart leader, vote Cruz for 2016! Let him lead us, if you let him, he will make America great again!

End Reflection

With the US national debt climbing 19.2 trillion dollars and wealth inequality so extreme, I see that the US government is corrupt, there are some good among the bad, but the only way to make America Great is to have a good leader.

"I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I'll build them very inexpensively — I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words." -Donald Trump. This wall is estimated to be 10 billion dollars. "We're gonna get the wall built...and Mexico's gonna pay for the wall, and they're gonna be happy about it." A spokesman for Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said on Trump's claim."Of course, it's false, it reflects an enormous ignorance for what Mexico represents, and also the irresponsibility of the candidate who's saying it." This plan isn't so great, yes immigrants need to go and drugs need to leave, but I don't think this is the way to go.

Although Bernie Sanders might not be our guy, he's still a fun candidate. "I will introduce legislation that will make every public college and public university tuition free." -Bernie Sanders. Based on his proposed College For All Act the federal government would fund two-thirds of that cost using a tax on Wall Street trading, but participating states would have to kick in the remaining costs. This College For All act would seem great for the young adults, but it doesn't seem to be wise.

Hillary is extremely left sided, to me, that's not what we need. But this wouldn't be a fair reflection if I didn't see the other side of the argument: that Cruz is not the answer. for instance, he targets Obama and Obamacare, "Obamacare is a trainwreck.. and that's not actually fair to trainwrecks." He also believes we should abolish the IRS, and add more border patrol, he is very conservative and to other people, I guess he is not the answer. "We're facing an assault on marriage. We want marriage that's a traditional union of one man and one woman." Now I see why he's not popular, sad but true.

At first, I just supported Cruz because my parents had, after actually researching the topic. I have come to the conclusion that Ted Cruz isn't the perfect candidate, but he's the best candidate.
