Junior class updates

Welcome! The purpose of this newsletter is to inform parents/caregivers about our junior class programming and upcoming events of interest. We hope that this information will also help you to engage your child in meaningful dialogue about their experiences at school.

Thank you,

Upcoming events

Week of November 30: Individual Junior Planning Meetings with students and school counselors begin. Topics we will discuss: review student transcript, plan for senior year classes, standardized testing, post-high school plans, extracurricular activities. Students should check their emails and respond to their scheduled appointment! Meetings will continue through December and January.

Week of December 7: Two presentations (Junior Parent Presentation and a recording of a recent College Admissions Panel) will be sent out to families.

Week of December 14: After families have had time to review the two presentations, the school counselors will hold drop-in Q&A sessions for junior parents/guardians (more information on dates/times below).

Week of December 21: PSAT returns in English classes. Students may already be able to access their scores electronically at that point, however school counselors will discuss how to further understand their scores.

Week of February 1 (start of Quarter 3): Begin Junior Seminar classes. All junior students will participate in planning for life after high school through a class with a school counselor for the duration of quarter 3 (more information will be shared on that in the coming weeks).
