Come with books and blankets and READ with your family.
You will be ‘Locked- In’ for 20 minutes in the theme-room of your choice to read
either silently or quietly with a family member. There will be 3 rotations 6pm, 6:30, and 7pm. Scholastic Book Fair will be open all evening ‘til 8pm.
Where will you choose to read? By a campfire with a flashlight, Under the Sea, In Sports Arena, Seussville, or in a Mad Scientist Lab.

Students are not allowed to use or have turned on any electronic signaling and cellular radio-telecommunication devices (cell phones) while in a school building ten minutes before and ten minutes after school hours and at school sponsored activities unless authorized and approved by the Administration or supervising faculty member. These restricted electronic devices include, but are not limited to, cellular telecommunication devices, personal digital assistant devices, walkie-talkies, and devices that incorporate voice or picture communication.
Please talk with your child if they have a Smartwatch and review the handbook expectations with them.

Be a hero for kids with cancer!
Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement!
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!
Millburn Elementary, with the help of Student Council, will be hosting a St. Baldrick's event. The event will be held on Friday, March 20th from 4pm-6pm. If you are interested in participating, or donating to this great cause, visit our website at

Staff Appreciation: We need some help! On Tuesday, January 28th we are holding a “Souper Bowl” Luncheon for our staff at both schools. We need a few more soups and desserts. Box Tops: The Winter Wonderland Box Top Drive is underway with a due date of Friday, 1/24/2020. Please send in all of the box tops that you have been collecting over the holidays and help Millburn raise extra money! The classroom with the most box tops submitted will win a classroom party and there will again be a random winner of a $25 Target Gift Card (every 25 box tops submitted earns 1 raffle ticket).
***The first winning classroom of this school year, Mrs. Laughman’s classroom, had the best time watching winter movies with popcorn and hot chocolate during their Box Top Party.
Also, any student who turns in 200 or more box tops will get a sweet treat!

Kids Resale: SPRING IS COMING and so is our resale!
Have a donation for the sale? We are hosting an EASY donation drop off if you aren’t planning to be a seller but still want to contribute to this great cause. Bring your donated items to the Middle school main entrance on THIS Saturday, January 25th from 9AM-11AM. If you have, Spring and summer clothing, shoes, bikes, dollhouses, other toys or baby equipment in good working condition that your house has outgrown, come drop it off!
We will take all toys for kids (infant to teen) in good working condition. We will also take baby equipment, sports equipment and room decor. This event is a success for our students because of the families that sell, the families that donate and the families that shop the sale. Thanks so much for your support!!

Activity Night: The second Middle School Activity Night for 2019-20 is on Friday, Jan 31st.
Dance Off Competitions will be at 7 and 8 pm. We are getting back the Guessing Games for this night. Remember to participate in Free Raffles. It will be fun filled evening. There will be Ping Pong, Volleyball, Basketball, and other games in the gyms.
There will be a DJ & NITRO BALL!!!!
THE DROP OFF/PICK UP PROCEDURE IS VERY IMPORTANT!

PICK UP

7th/8th grade-9:00pm ACTIVITY entrance
For PICK UP, please pull in and find a parking spot. You can meet your child at the canopy area. You can also use the pick up late, but if everyone does this, the line of traffic will stretch out to Route 45! No students will be allowed to walk or ride a bike home.
Admission to the event is $2.00. Drinks, candy and pizza will be available for purchase.
All students attending MUST have a current student ID to show at the door. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Students CANNOT go to their lockers to retrieve forgotten ID’s, as the hallway doors are locked. Also, all students must have a permission slip to attend Activity Night on file. If you need to leave before the Activity Night is over, YOUR parent must come inside the building and sign you out!
The rules are NOT negotiable!

Crafting Day: Mark your calendar for our next Crafting Day on Saturday February 1st. Join us for a day of crafting plus more! District Talent Show: District 24 will have an EPIC Talent Show on Thursday, February 20th from 6PM-8PM at Millburn Middle School. All Millburn students from Kindergarten thru 8th grade are welcome to perform in the Talent Show. All acts must attend the mandatory rehearsal Thursday, February 6 from 6PM-8PM at Millburn Middle School. All acts (dancing, singing, gymnastics, playing an instrument, karate, magic, etc.) must be school appropriate, and performances can be no longer than 2 minutes in length. Permission slip for Talent Show participation can be found on virtual backpack or at millburnEPIC.com. REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR TALENT SHOW IS FRIDAY, JANUARY 31. Millburn Scholarship Program: EPIC is thrilled to offer three $1,000 scholarships to 2020 senior Millburn alums who have plans to continue their education after high school. Spirit Wear: Recycle/Swap: Do you have spirit wear your child has grown out of? Recycle/Swap them out! Drop off donations at the offices and other upcoming events, then select from other products available in April at the Fun Run. Details will continue to be posted.
