Peak at the Week
Chancellor News and Notes, November 28 - December 2, 2016
One day down, 14 more to go...
I'm not the only one counting down, am I? After a wonderful but very busy week off, we are back with our students and working hard these next 3 weeks, with lots of DCA's happening, field trips, music programs, our Multicultural Market, and holiday events. Please refer to any schedules sent out by email or put in your mailbox, and meet deadlines ahead of time to keep stress low. The weeks will fly by! The goal is to keep students focused and learning, and to keep ourselves calm and collected, as things can be a little nutty the closer we get to December 16th. Prep your students on changes in schedules, and use your CHAMPs expectations to keep consistency across the building.
Behavior Incentives for December...
Time for a little laughter...
Our Comet of the Week- Belinda Gau!
Mrs. Garcia nominated Ms. Gau, 2nd grade teacher, for the following reasons:
"I nominate Belinda Gau for Comet of the Week because she is wonderful to work with in planning for our students’ success. She is so flexible in adjusting for students’ needs, helping to make sure our students have a positive atmosphere and she has creative sayings that bring a smile to our faces. She always has a positive and encouraging word for me in difficult situations and is the best partner to have."
December Toy Drive Time!
We are starting our annual toy drive! A flyer is going home tomorrow (Tuesday) for our families, and we would love for our whole staff to participate too! Toys will be donated to both Chancellor families (as determined by our counselors and Ms. Harris) and to either House of Amos or the Alief CIS department (depending on how many donations we get!). We would love to make this a huge success and make some students really happy this holiday season. So here's how you can participate:
Bring your brand-new toys, dolls, books, games, or other children's fun items (please make sure it is something kids would love to have!) to Marie to get jeans passes. You can earn up to 5 jeans passes (but if you want to donate more, that would awesome too). Then place the unwrapped toys under the Christmas tree in the office. It's that easy!
