Fulton Focus-Special Edition
For the parents and patrons of the Fulton School District
March 11, 2019
Why Remind?
With the significant increase in the number of student and parent contacts via mobile devices using some type of text messaging platform, the District has selected Remind as an optional communication tool for parents, teachers, and students. As a District, we have encouraged teachers and coaches to communicate with students and parents in a manner that is open and available for review and which uses two-way communication and Remind will allow this to happen. Every parent and student will be able to choose to participate. This allows you, as a parent, to receive the same school messages as your student(s) when communicating with a teacher or coach.
Remind is optional and free to use. You will be able to receive and send messages on any device—even a simple text message from your phone. As part of this implementation, accounts have been created for all the teachers, parents, and students at Fulton Public Schools. At this time, you may choose to participate by responding to the email or text message from Remind. All you need to do is follow the steps in the message to finish setting up your account.
Again, we believe Remind will provide a secure method for you to monitor your student's school authorized communication and will allow you to communicate with appropriate school officials.
Thank you for sending great students to work with.
Sincerely,
Jacque A. Cowherd, Ed.D.
SuperintendentRemind is READY!
We are excited to share that Fulton Public Schools is ready to roll out Remind District-wide! If you're not already familiar with Remind, it's a classroom communication tool that makes it easy to stay involved with your child's learning. Remind is free to use, and you'll be able to get and send messages on any device—even a simple text message from your phone!
As part of this rollout, official accounts have been created for all the educators, parents, and students at Fulton Public Schools. On Tuesday, March 12, you'll receive an email much like the one below or text message from Remind. All you need to do is follow the steps in the message to finish setting up your account. Here is a video demo to see how Remind works.
If you have questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. Many FPS teachers are already using Remind so you may already have experience. Please make sure you are using the same email address and phone number provided to the school in online registration. Log into your Parent Portal account to make any necessary changes.
We're excited to make connecting with our families safely and more engaging!
