DAVIS HILL COMMUNITY UPDATE
December 9, 2019
Dear Davis Hill Community,
I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend. I know that this time of year always seems quite busy for many of our DH families provided the upcoming holidays. I've added a quick link HERE for some ideas about managing parental anxiety during the holiday season. Our winter break is only two short weeks away!
Quick Note: We continue to see a large number of clothes end up in lost and found without names. We work hard to try to help students manage their jackets/ sweatshirts/ gloves/ hats/ boots/ etc. However, this task is extremely challenging given the large number of students we have in the building. Labeling clothes with a name helps us to efficiently get belongings that may get lost back to students. Thank you!
Kindly,
Jay C. Norton, Principal
*Don't forget to read through the entire update... there are always more dates in the Upcoming Events Section. If you have any questions/ concerns- please don't hesitate to contact me/ the office.

Winter Concert (Wednesday, December 18th)
We will use the same basic schedule/ set-up for the winter concert this year for those who are familiar with the last few years.
10:00AM (Concert for Students with last names beginning with letter A-K)
1:30PM (Concert for Students with last names beginning with letter L-Z)
Notes:
-All students will perform in both shows.
-The concert is anticipated to be slightly over one hour long.
-Please do NOT arrive prior to 30 minutes before the concert is set to begin. Doors will not open until 9:30/ 1:00 respectively.
-We request that students are not dismissed after the show unless absolutely necessary.
-Parking is always a challenge. If possible, we recommend car pooling.
Thank you!

*Hard copies of the information should have come home with students a couple of weeks ago. If you need a new hard copy... please let us know. Thank you!
Garden Update
RECESS/ COLD WEATHER/ CLOTHES LABELING
Please remember that we try to get the kids out for recess every day when the temperature is 20 degrees or above (We factor in wind chill and other safety precautions as well). This is true also if there is a slight drizzle/ mist. Please ensure that students are properly attired for the weather conditions.
In addition, we have a Lost and Found that fills up very quickly. We have a number of items that go unclaimed. Please make sure to label items whenever possible. This includes jackets/ sweatshirts/ water bottles/ lunch boxes/ hats/ gloves/ etc. Items that are labeled have a much greater percentage of being returned than those that are not.
Thank you!
