Families Need Winter items
The SIEOC called and asked if SLS could help them collect winter items for needy families. The are wanting hats, scarves, and gloves/mittens. If you can help, there will be a collection box outside of the school office until December 18 when they will pick it back up. I asked if gently used was ok, but they prefer new if possible.

The Gobble Up Food Drive was sponsored by the SLS student council. The drive took place from November 3rd- November 21st. The food drive is a way students could support local families who need extra help over the Thanksgiving holiday. Students collected in excess of 1,200 items. All items were taken to the Batesville Food Pantry. The SLS student body did a great job collecting food but special attention needs to go to Mrs. Farmer and Mrs. Konradi’s kindergarten classes for bring in almost 150 cake mixes and frostings. Mrs. Narwold’s 2nd grade class was also able to collect over 100 cans of soup, gravy and broth.
SLS would like to thank The Village Store and Kroger for letting us use their grocery carts during our food drive.

Christmas Program information
Our K-2 Christmas program is Monday, December 4 at 7:00 PM in the SLS Activity Center. Students should arrive between 6:30 and 6:45. Please enter through the Activity Center, taking your student’s coat. Teachers will be on hand to direct them to the cafeteria, where they will line up. Please note that doors will open at 6:30 as well.
Students should wear dressy clothes - please no jeans, tshirts, or sweatshirts. This is a great opportunity to show off that Christmas outfit! Students do tend to get warm, as there are a lot of people in attendance, so short sleeves are recommended if possible.

Steubenville Youth Conference
The Steubenville Youth Conference is open to all Catholic teens in 8th-12th grades as of Fall 2017. We live in a world where there are voices shouting at us from all sides, trying to tell us who we are and who we aren’t, who we should be and who we shouldn’t be. If we pay too much attention to these voices, it won’t be long before we forget our true identity altogether. But amidst all the noise is our loving Father, who wants to make Himself known to us and speak truth about who we are.
God’s love is deeper and His plan for our lives is greater than anything the world has to offer – will we allow Him to reveal it to us? This summer, over 50,000 Catholic teens across North America will participate in 25 Steubenville Youth Conferences, and we want you to be one of them! Come experience the love of God in a new and more profound way. He has so much in store for you. June 15-17, 2018. Registrations are now open.
To register go to http://www.stlouis-batesville.org/ym__steubenville, email TeamJesusSteubenville@gmail.com, or call Carrie Wesseler (812)212-9477 or Angie Moster (812)212-7026. Thank you!

String Theory - Quality Affordable Music For Your Festival
String Theory was formed in 2016 and is comprised of former members of The Remains
and Haymarket Riot, two of Cincinnati’s most respected bands. We focus on classic rock
material from artists such as The Beatles, Eagles, CSN, America, Queen, Neil Young, Pink
Floyd, Simon and Garfunkle as well as some contemporary artists like Jason Mraz, Mumford
and Sons and Phil Phillips.
The four members of the group have over 100 years of performing experience and our focus
is to provide high quality entertainment for budget conscious parishes. There are a number of
bands that perform the festival circuit that are outside the budgets of most parishes. Our goal
is to service the smaller parishes and help them by supplying a quality evening of music and
working with your budgets to make it work for you. I am from a smaller parish in Cincinnati so
I know first hand how challenging this is.
Please feel free to contact me when you begin planning your festival for 2018. We would love to
have the opportunity to work with you.
Thank You,
Pete Ellerhorst
