Welcome to a New School Year

The time has finally come! While I am sad that the summer is ending, I am also looking forward to getting the new school year started. No matter how old I am, I always seem to get butterflies before the first day of school. That is why it is so important that I am well prepared the night before the big day. The less there is on my mind before I hit the pillow, the better I sleep and the better I feel in the morning. Your child may have butterflies, which could affect his or her sleep. However, you can help alleviate any "stress" they may be feeling by involving them in preparing for the day. Young children gain an understanding of everyday events and procedures and learn what is expected of them as routines make their environment more predictable. It is beneficial to make them part of preparing what they need to bring to school in advance, as this will send a positive message. We suggest you make a list together and then check off the items as you get things done. Not only are you helping them learn organizing skills but you are also modeling the purpose of writing and exposing them to print concepts! It's a win-win!

On behalf of all of us at LLC, we look forward to a smooth transition and a great school year ahead!

Teacher Meet & Greets

By now you have received your child's teacher assignment, a few letters in the mail, and an invitation to your child's Teacher Meet & Greet. Please read the schedule carefully and adhere to the times. This will ensure each class will have a smooth event.

When you arrive at the school, walk around the back of the building to the playground area. Please come 5-10 minutes early to complete a Covid-19 Screener, and to ensure the tour starts on time.

The tour will begin with a quick walk-through of the school and the classroom. Following the tour, parents and students will exit the building. Parents can then take their child(ren) to the bus that will be parked on site. The bus driver will take a few minutes to talk about bus safety and rules.

IMPORTANT: Home School Association (HSA) Play Date Rescheduled Due to Rain AGAIN!!

Due to the upcoming weather report AGAIN, the HSA has rescheduled the playdate. We welcome our LLC Families to join us and our HSA at Lidgerwood Park on September 15th from 5:00-7:00 pm! Come by anytime to meet, greet, and play with old and new friends.

We hope to see you there but no worries if you can't make it! The HSA will host other events throughout the year where you will have opportunities to meet and interact with LLC families.
