A Message from the MJ Health Office
Marion Jordan Elementary School
So many of us in District 15 have been working hard and doing our best to keep our schools open, as well as ensure the health and safety of our staff and students. In order to do so, we are required to follow a very stringent and specific guideline that is mandated for the school system by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Please keep in mind that if your child is experiencing even one COVID-like symptom, they must stay home. One of the following is required in order for your student to return to in-person learning:
-Returned documentation of a negative Molecular PCR test (rapid tests no longer accepted). Documentation must indicate that the test performed was PCR.
-A physician note indicating an alternative diagnosis AND a statement that there is no clinical concern for COVID-19
-A ten day wait from the day that symptoms began. The student is able to return to school on the 11th day from the start of symptoms.
You can email available documentation to the school nurse, Sherin Thomas at thomass2@ccsd15.net.
Please refrain from sending your child back to school until the school nurse or her designee has given formal clearance to do so.
Feel free to contact Sherin with any other questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding and help in keeping our schools safe amidst these uncertain times.
