preparing for STAAR

Students will be reviewing previous content and skills prior to the state assessments. Teachers used the grade on the benchmark and grades from the first semester to drive instruction for the remainder of the year and to assist in preparing students for upcoming STAAR tests, as well as the next. To do this, we are holding special learning sessions on our WIN (What I Need) Days. Students have been grouped based on their academic needs in specific areas to receive some extra instruction.

Additionally, we are holding mandatory tutorials from April 3-25. They will begin at 3:10 (during the school day) and finish up at 3:55. Some staff not available at that time will be offering their tutorials from 7:00-7:30 AM in the mornings. Students received letters or notifications from their math and/or reading teachers the last week of March. 8th-grade students also received tutorial information from their science and history teachers. Not all students are in need of tutorials. If you have questions, please contact your child's core teachers.
