Preparing to Return
April 5, 2021
Dear Families,
Under the direction of the New Mexico Public Education Department, NMPED, Red River Valley Charter School will resume in person learning on April 5, 2021. We need your help to ensure that students and staff remain safe and healthy for the remainder of the school year and into the summer break.
1. Please speak with your child(ren) each day before sending them to school on the bus, trolley, or in your personal vehicle. Please keep your child(ren) home if they are experiencing any of the following:
- Fever (100 or higher)
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Recent loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion-including stuffy nose and/or drainage
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
3. If you, a family member in the same house, or your child(ren) test positive for COVID-19 or if you are waiting for test results, please remain home to ensure other students and staff remain safe from infection.
4. In person learning will take place from 8:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. and students in the online learning setting will check in throughout the in person school. Additional support will be available from 2:30-4:00p.m. for all students regardless of in person/online setting. Students who are attending in person learning are expected to bring a mask and to wear the mask for the duration of the in person school day except when eating or drinking at designated times throughout the school day.
We understand the great responsibility that we have to ensure the safety of our students and staff and we need your help to keep our campus and the spread of COVID-19 at bay. If your child(ren) need to stay home because of exposure to COVID-19, the teachers and staff will work with him/her in the online setting.
Thank you for your help and dedication to the success of all of our students and staff.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Ritterhouse
