Mark's Monday Morning Memo

Enhanced Drill
We will be participating in an enhanced lockdown drill on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 1:30. This will be an enhanced lockdown drill that will take place while some of our students are at recess and lunch. We will work to share information with our food service, custodial, playground, and cafeteria staff, as well as teachers, so everyone will know their responsibilities and how to react and respond. District representatives, as well as members of the Minnetonka fire and police departments, will be here to observe and assist.
World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day is being recognized on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Our PBIS Team is planing an all-school community gathering for that day to recognize our recent Citizens of the Month and to celebrate the kindness our students and staff are exhibiting. More details will be shared, soon.
Data Meetings
Data meetings are scheduled for October 24, 25, and 29. The agenda will start with a discussion about Tier I instruction and understanding how the implementation of the new literacy curriculum is going. After that, we will invite interventionists to talk about how Tier II push-in is going. The final discussion will be thinking about potential Tier III pull-out intervention support and how that might work. Classroom teachers should bring the following to the data meetings:
K-2
Assessment Resource book for Being a Reader and Making Meaning
Placement assessment data for Being a Reader (1-2)
3-6
Assessment Resource book for Making Meaning
Data from Fountas and Pinnell leveling
Data from MAP test

Thank you for volunteering to help set-up or manage some of the activities during the PTO sponsored Family Fun Night this Friday, October 26, 2018. This is a well attended event enjoyed by a lot of our families and the PTO is appreciative of everyone who volunteers.
