Fort Edward Elementary
May/June 2019 - End of Year Edition!
Principal's Message
It happens every year, the school year flies by and suddenly it's almost summer. Our students and staff have accomplished so much this year! Teachers have piloted the Writing Workshop curriculum, and now students even as young as kindergarten are writing and illustrating wonderful stories. We implemented the i-Ready diagnostic bench marking and online instruction systems, and students were successful in taking their i-Ready tests and have shown great growth in reading and math. We improved our Homework/Enrichment Club offerings, and all teachers are now available for extra help until 3:00 daily Monday - Thursday. We have many fun activities and field trips planned for the end of the school year - keep reading for more info. I hope your student(s) have had a good year here at the Fort. We will miss them over the summer, and will look forward to another great year in '19-'20!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jones

Also, please remember that students going into grades K, 6, 7 & 12 have immunizations required, and students in grades Pre-K, K, 1, 3, 5, 7 & 11 must have physicals. Mrs. Horne will need documentation of these immunizations and physicals in September 2019. Also - for safety reasons - flip-flops are not allowed on the playground. If students wear flip-flops, please send sneakers in for recess time. Thank you!
