Common Assessments
It is time to give S.S. and Science common assessments again. Please create the assessments and give them to me electronically by this Friday, Nov. 6th for review. Remember to use the DOK information you have learned to write quality assessment items. Constructed response questions should also be included for first and second grades. First grade, please include at least 1 constructed response question. Second grade, please include at least 2 constructed response questions. Assessments are to be administered Nov. 9, 10, and 11th. The data from these assessments is due to me on Nov. 13th. You may use Scan Tron sheets for this assessment if it is easier. Please stop by my office to get the students' bubble sheets. If students use Scan Tron sheets, please give me your class' bubble sheets to score no later than Wednesday at 4:00 . This will give me time to scan the bubble sheets and return your data spreadsheet to you to complete and turn in to me by Friday, Nov. 13. Data results are to be accompanied by a plan of action. Remember..... re-teaching and small group instruction is expected, not a strategy. The plan of action is a plan for how you will re-teach. If you have questions, please ask.
Number Talks
Be sure you are telling your students why they are participating in Number Talks. I will be looking to see your progress in this area as outlined by Elisa Gibbs during your Number Talk training.
3D Anchor Charts
Do you have extra manipulatives you can spare? Use them on an anchor chart to demonstrate a math concept.
Eating math
What better way to enforce subtraction by actually eating what you subtract!
