SIX FLAGS FRIDAY, MAY 13

We will be handing out permission slips for Six Flags on May 5 & 6 through Math classes at the NGC.


Reminder of Requirements:

*At least a 70 semester average in all classes

*No more than 3 unexcused absences in all classes starting 1/21

*No ISS, OSS, or DAEP in the 2nd semester

*All fines & fees including cafeteria fees

*All make-up hours must be cleared

PHYSICALS

ATHLETIC PHYSICALS FOR INCOMING 9TH-12TH GRADERS WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE OUTBACK FROM 4:30-6PM WEDNESDAY MAY 11TH, ALL MEDICAL HISTORY AND PAPERWORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED AND SIGNED BY THE PARENT PRIOR TO THE PHYSICAL.

YEARBOOKS

Yearbooks are scheduled to be distributed the week of May 16th during MegaLunch.Check the lists posted outside the Counseling Center and next to the library to see if YOUR copy has been paid for. Wait List students will not be listed but need to bring their payment to Mrs. Gilley Room F210 before Friday, May 13th if they want to pick their book up during the regular distribution days.


Pending on time delivery of the books, NGC distribution will take place on Friday, May 20th during MegaLunch.



Please have your student listen to the daily announcements for any change in information.

FIGHTING ROO BAND

Colorguard Solo and Ensemble at Colleyville Heritage High School. We had 4 solos come away with a 1st division. These students are Taylor L, Haylee R, Eli K and Shelbie L. Zoie P and Haylee Rey also made a 1st division on their duet and scored 97 out of 100. All of these students are advancing to the all-star solo and ensemble event this Saturday at Lake Ridge High School.


The Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band 1 both made earned the UIL Sweepstakes Award last week by making a 1st division in concert and a 1st division in sight-reading. This is the Wind Symphony's 7th straight sweepstakes earning a 1st division in UIL Marching, Concert and Sightreading.

POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL

The PowderPuff Football game is coming up on May 19.

VOLLEYBALL FUNDRAISER

Weatherford’s Lady Roo Volleyball Program is fundraising for their upcoming season by putting on a 4 on 4 co-ed volleyball tournament open to all grades 7th and up and yes, this includes adults!! Games will be on May 14th starting at 9:00am. The cost is $10 per player—you may have up to 6 players per team should you want to sub but only 4 players on the court at one time. Spectator entry fee will be $2.00, payable upon entrance. Please submit forms and payment no later than Tuesday, May 10th to Natalie Gonzales, at Weatherford High School Classroom K104. You can get more information from your high school girls volleyball coaches.

ROO BASEBALL: BI-DISTRICT CHAMPIONS

VARSITY

The Kangaroo Baseball team traveled to Snyder, Texas for the Bi-District round of the playoffs vs Odessa Permian. The Kangaroos won game one 6-0 and then took game two 5-0 to sweep the Panthers. Parker B got the win in game one pitching 6 2/3 innings and striking out 10 and Spencer Hpicked up the win in game two pitching 6 1/3 innings and striking out 7. Garrett M came on in relief in both game to close out the games. Mason Z had a great weekend going 5 for 6 at the plate to lead the offense while Mike N went 4 for 7. Blake B, Preston E, Spencer H, Nick R, Joey M, Bryce B, and Parker B all had key hits during the series for the Roos.


The Kangaroos will be back in action this coming weekend vs Frenship High School in the area round of the playoffs.
