Message from Dr. DeWeese
Over the past few weeks students have been selling Bobo's Pizza and have earned $5779 dollars for our school. We plan to use the money to purchase classroom materials and to continue to make improvements to the building. If you haven't stopped by the Learning Commons since fall break be sure to stop by and check out the new space. The students are loving the new learning and seating areas.
Our annual PTO Trunk or Treat event was a huge success. Thank you for coming out, decorating your car, and waiting in the lines to get candy. It was fantastic to see all of our families coming together for a night of fun. Special thanks to our PTO for all their organization and help to make the event possible. It is a favorite for the kids and staff!
We recently installed two screens and projectors in our gym. Over the past few years our PTO has worked to make this project possible. We are very excited to have the upgraded technology to use every week in our Friday Celebration Assemblies. Mr. Rector and Mr. Swope, our PE teachers are getting great use out of them too with PE classes. Thanks to all of our families for attending events and selling Entertainment Books over the past few years to make this project complete.
Second quarter is full of a number events that we hope you can attend. We will celebrate Veteran's Day, National Tolerance and Acceptance Week, First Grade will be hosting a Grandparents Day, Choir Shows, the Second Grade Program, and Student Council will be selling Candy Grams. It's a busy time of year around The Ridge!
As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. It takes a partnership between home and school to ensure student success. Thanks for all your support so far this school year. I am looking forward to another great quarter.

Operation Warm Coat
We are thankful for the generosity. A new coat means students can be warm and come to school healthy. The students were thrilled with their new coats and have been proud to wear them. You can check out all the stories below using the links.

Title One Funding
At Harvest Ridge the money received from this funding source is used to pay staff members. Those staff members include Reading Specialists, Reading Interventionists, and Educational Support Counselors. All of these staff positions help to provide reading support and emotional support for students.
Funding for Harvest Ridge is also spent to provide technology for student use. In an effort to meet our goal of having one device for every student in 3rd-5th grade we have purchased new chrome book carts. Professional development for teachers and classroom resources have also been paid for through these funds. We have recently provided teachers with training on how to be trauma informed and we are working to provide more reading materials in classroom libraries.
If you have any questions regarding Title One Funding please reach out to Dr. DeWeese.
