Causes of the American Revolution

Navigation Acts
In the colonies at the beginning of 1650. The parliament wanted to put the theory of merchantilism into place. The parliament wanted to put the theory in place because they wanted to combat the threat of fastly growing Dutch, carrying trade.
The Proclamtion of 1763
In the colonies, during the year 1763. King George III wrote the proclamation of 1763 to avoid more conflict and tension with American Indians. The document led Indians to have the right to the land and it also did not allow the colonists to settle west of the Appalachian mountains, which made the colonists very angry.
The Stamp Act
In the colonies in 1765, the parliament came up with the idea Stamp Act. The Stamp Act taxed everything printed on paper. The act had to require colonists to buy a stamp or seal for their papers. They came up with the stamp act to pay the debt of the French and Indian War.
Quartering Act
In the colonies during 1765, the Parliament also came up with a new act called the Quartering Act. The act allowed colonists to house or feed the British soldiers, which they call "Quarter." The Parliament made another act because of the social and political problems after the Stamp Act.
Townshend Acts
In the colonies during 1767, the Parliament came up with the Townshend Acts. This Act made the colonists have to pay taxes on imported goods such as tea, glass, paper, and other items. They came up with this act to pay for rising military costs from the Quartering Act.
Boston Massacre
In Boston 1770, a big crowd swarmed around a mad colonist fighting with a British soldier. All of the colonists started to shout insults and throw snowballs at the soldier. After that, some more soldiers came in and as soon as the crowd grew louder and angrier, shots were fired. Five colonists were killed, and this event was later named the Boston Massacre by the colonists.
Tea Act & Boston Tea Party
In the colonies during 1773, the parliament passed an act called The Tea Act. This act made only one company sell tea to the colonies and that company was the British East India Company. The prices were lower now, but this still made the colonists unhappy because they're forced to pay taxes. On December, 1773. The Sons of Liberty were disguised as American Indians and they illegally got on the ships and threw out 342 crates of British tea into the Boston harbor. This action was the Boston Tea Party.
Coercive Acts (Intolerable Acts)
In Boston in 1774, the Prime Minister made the parliament pass laws called the Coercive Acts. The colonists called the Coercive Acts "Intolerable Acts" because they were too mean. The act made colonists pay for the tea and to make colonists not plan for any other attacks.
The American Revolution
The American Revolution is a political revolution in 1765 to 1783. Some of the causes in the American Revolution were economic trade, and taxation. British taxed the american colonists which made them angry and led to the American Revolution. Yes, I think colonists were justified in declaring independence from England because British didn't treat colonists fairly, they taxed them.
