Mrs. Faccio's 4th Grade Newsletter

What's Up in the Classroom?
Spelling- Students were suppose to begin switching this week for their sort groups but they were not able to due to scheduling conflicts. So, we continued on with their 500 "No Excuse" words and will start our switch next week.
Reading- We've added in motivations to our character traits and it's going VERY well. Students are having to find proof from the text to support the trait they assigned to a specific book character.
Math - We began switching for math and it has been fun. Students are getting to experience another 4th grade teacher (unless, of course, they're with me) and have the instruction more focused on their skill set at this time. Groups are flexible and change easily to ensure your child is in their "Good Fit" math classroom.
Technology- Students were introduced to Scootpad this week. They are required to do one reading Scootpad and one math Scootpad each day. They have about 20 to 25 minutes a day in school to complete the task but if they decide to use their time for other things (math h.w., writing, spelling, etc.) then they will have to complete the assignment at home.
Character Assembly
Picture Day and Planner
The students are doing a really nice job checking the planner each night. I test them each morning to see if they did the secret assignment!!
