Cougar Community!
Due to class sizes, the counseling team will be making schedules changes in 8th grade Science and Social Studies. Schedule changes are random selection and with the least possible impact to the current schedule. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
Just a friendly reminder that students need to come with a mask everyday. We have a limited supply of disposable masks, so we need students to have a permanent mask or a spare one if they are using the daily ones as they tend to break. We are also accepting mask donations!
The United States is a diverse democracy. That means that each election and policy debate engages a diverse electorate as well as the hearts and minds of students. At Combs Middle School, our students will participate in a mock election. It is critically important that students learn about voting, elections, and develop the civic competencies to fully engage in the democratic process.

7 Mindsets Updates:
In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, "Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be." This concept is tied to the 100% Accountable Mindset. During the month of November, students will be introduced to this mindset and will focus on the concept that, each of us is ultimately in charge of our own happiness and success. Students will learn what it means to take control of the outcomes in their own lives. They will receive lessons in identifying and addressing common limiting beliefs and will develop ways to overcome those limiting beliefs. Additionally, students will address time management issues by recognizing the importance of maximizing their time. Finally, students will be provided with the opportunity to find ways to “Grow through life” vs. “Go through life”.
Athletic Updates
Both girls’ volleyball and boys soccer are underway. Girls volleyball games at Combs Middle School is allowing up to 50 percent capacity for attendance. In order to manage the capacity limit, volleyball players will be giving out two tickets to the adults of their choice. When attending the game you must present this ticket at the front door. If you do not have this ticket, there is a good chance you will not be allowed to attend the game. During each game, spectators must wear a mask for the entirety of the match, and social distance as much as possible. Boys soccer is going to allow home and away fans to attend games. If you are not able to social distance you must wear a mask.
If you child is planning on playing girls basketball third quarter, please make sure they have their physical, sports packet completed and turned into the front office.
If you have any questions please contact Mr. Clark.
