Murals on our Ball Walls!
Through the graciousness of the Children's Theatre Company, Muralist, Ms. Megan Sara, began painting murals on our 2 ball walls this week. (See picture below. They will be painted on the sides that face Channing Ave.) The timeline is short to get this work done before the play opens. It will take Megan 7-8 full days of painting to finish the murals that will be used as backdrops for our play as well as to be enjoyed by the Duveneck community for years to come. Thank you Ms. Sara for your incredible work and making our campus beautiful and inviting for all!

We will have a new bell schedule for the 22/23 school year. The reason for the new schedule is to create better alignment among all the elementary schools in the district. The one big change for Duveneck is that we will no longer have an afternoon recess for our K-3rd grade students. Please note the new end times for TK, K-3 M, T, TH, F, and our minimum day Wednesdays.
For those families who have a K-3 student and a 4/5 student, you will be able to wait on campus in a designated area so you won't have to come back and forth two times in the afternoon for pick up. I will share more specific details about where families can hang out and wait in my before school communications in August.

3rd Grade Bicycle Rodeo
Students brought their bicycle's and other 'wheels' to school and we had spare bicycles and wheels for those who couldn't bring their own to the event. The students rotated through 6 different stations that focused on specific aspects of bicycle safety rules to follow when they are riding and scootering on the streets around their neighborhoods.
It was so exciting to have this important safety event back on campus and our students had a blast participating in the stations. A special thank you goes out to our Safe Routes to School Committee, the parent volunteers, the police officers that came to support the rodeo and Ms. Rose Mesterhazy, Safe Routes to School Coordinator, Office of Transportation. The event was a huge success!!
