Pratt's Primary Corner

Weekly Update- August 31, 2018

Week at a Glance

Reading- This week we really focused on genres and the difference between fiction & nonfiction books. We also talked about how authors bring their writing to life.

Math- We are moving right along Unit 1. We will take our first "checkpoint" on Tuesday to see how we're doing. I love the flexible thinking students are using to solve their addition & subtraction facts.

Writing- Today we finished our first narrative unit and celebrated our writing. Next week we will begin our informational writing unit.

Science/Social Studies- Today was the first time we were paid for our jobs! Yahoo!! We discussed things we may learn from having a job, being paid for our jobs, and paying rent for our desks.

Me Museum Homework Assignment

Today your child will come home with their first homework assignment- Create a "Me Museum!" This is a fun activity that will help us learn more about our classmates.

This will be due on Friday, Sept. 7th. We will also present this day. Parents are welcome to attend from 11:50-12:20.

MAP testing had to be moved due to site maintenance. We will now take the MAP reading test on Wednesday, September 5th.

Login information regarding ALEKS math came home in our child's red folder.
