Anti-Virus Software
Anti-Virus is a type of software designed to protect your computer. It detects and removes anything that can damage a computer system, such as viruses, hijackers and worms, it gives you the option to destroy the virus, or store it somewhere that is harmless, and doesn’t affect the computer. . Anti-virus software alerts you if there are any problems, like a virus on your computer. Also on a daily basis, it checks if any new viruses have entered your system. An example of an Anti-Virus software is Norton Anti-Virus.
Spyware Pretection
Spyware protection is a program that sends information from your computer to another destination on the internet, without your consent. Most spyware programs limit themselves to sharing specific types of information, such as websites you visit on the internet, and email addresses. Spyware of a sort is also used for parental control programs that protect children from unsuitable internet content. An example of a spyware protection program is Norton Anti-Spyware.
Disk Organisation
disk organisation is the initial part of the process of preparing a hard disk or other storage devices for its first use. Partitions are created, these are what we know as drives. a disk might be partitioned into multiple drives. Each partition/drive's purpose will be different to the other. one drives purpose may be to store application files and the othert may be a USB stick. Disk organisation also includes setting up an empty file systemwhich allow folders and files to be created and deleted in the normal way.
Formatting
Formatting is to arrange files and put them into a format. There are different types of formatting: disk formatting, which is to store media. The term "format" can also be used to describe the page layout or style of text in a word processing document. A file format refers to the way data is saved within a file. For example, some files are saved in a plain text format, while others are saved as binary files. Software developers often create proprietary file formats for their programs, which prevents the files from being used by other applications.
File Transfer
File transfer is transmitting (moving or coping) a file from one computer to another; this can be by either over a network, for example the internet, or by changing one file to another.
