POINT VIEW PRIMARY - CELEBRATING 25 YEARS
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
We are delighted to see the Point View School Campus buzzing with activity once more. The squeals of delight on the playground as children got back together with their friends was such a pleasure to see. Our attendance rates are over 95% which is very encouraging.
Welcome to one and all, but a very special welcome to all families and students who are new to the school. It is a privilege to be able to support you by working alongside each child as we learn together at Point View.
Robyn Hibberd has let us know that she misses us but is enjoying her retirement. The senior syndicate is now in the safe hands of Tina Joshua-Bargh, our new Deputy Principal. Sandy Walker is also enjoying retirement having ensured a good handover to Pritika Kumar our new Business Manager. Sheryn Cribb and Yeolisha Naidoo have joined our teaching staff and we welcome back Sarah Brider from maternity leave. On behalf of our school community, I wish all our new staff happy and fulfilling professional lives at Point View.
Thank you to everyone for following the guidelines we have in place at the red ‘traffic light’ setting. Keeping to your arrival and pick-up times and ensuring you and your children are wearing quality masks reduces risks of infection. When we add to this the strong health and hygiene procedures we have in place at school, 100% staff vaccination and very high vaccination rates amongst our community, it makes me confident that we are doing all we can to keep as safe as possible.
Our ‘Meet the Teacher evening’ is coming up. We will hold these meetings online using a Google Meet. You will receive further instructions, but in the meantime, please calendar this meeting on Thursday 24th February from 7:00pm.
Whilst you are updating your diaries, please take note of three Teacher Only Days which are coming up in the first half of the year. Staff will be working on the New Curriculum which is currently under development by the Ministry and across all schools. This is important and time-consuming work that needs the focus of our teachers. Teacher Only Day dates are on our calendar: Monday 21 March, Monday 9th May, Friday 3rd June.

TAX GIFT INTRODUCTION
We’re a TaxGift school: TaxGift grows your donation!
We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Kindo and TaxGift, which you’ll see when the school donation is added to your Kindo account next week.
With TaxGift, your gift grows by up to 43% with the gift of your donation tax credit. By choosing to TaxGift your tax credit when you next donate to us via myKindo, you will be supporting us even further at absolutely no cost to you.
Here’s how: As a NZ taxpayer you can claim a tax credit of 33% on the school donations you make, but if you choose to gift that tax credit to Point View School, TaxGift will turn it into even more for our school – all as a gift in your name.
It’s the easiest gift you’ll ever give us: simply opt in to TaxGift on myKindo (it takes less than a minute) and the team at TaxGift and Kindo will work together to make it happen.
Haven’t claimed donation tax credits before?
Gift them to us! If you haven’t claimed your donation tax credits on your gifts to us in the last four years, you can gift us those at the same time when you complete your TaxGift opt-in on myKindo.
TaxGift grows gifts: opt in for us when you pay your donations via Kindo!
