ASAP Corner
Summer Happenings 2019
About Cohort 5
This summer, the students focused their service learning project on the SEI Community Garden. The students spent time volunteering and learning how important the garden is to the community and how important it is to give back. To celebrate their successful completion of the summer semester, they chose to spend the afternoon at the Cincinnati Zoo and engaged in a little scavenger hunt! A shout of thanks to Abby, Student Development and Success Specialist, who was able to join us for the day.

Coming Soon
The students will continue to volunteer in their community. Their volunteer list includes P.A.W.S., ringing bells for the Salvation Army, and volunteering at Ridgewood Nursing Home located in Lawrenceburg. These students will take part in a non-violent communication class, team building experiences, and self-reflections.
In November, the ASAP students will also take part in the 2019 ASAP Student Leadership Summit hosted by Dr. Ellspermann who is the President of Ivy Tech. This is a great opportunity for ASAP students to connect with other ASAP students and share their experiences.
Cohort 5 will have 2 celebrations during the fall. The celebrations take place at the end of each 8-week block of classes. They will come together and vote to decide where they would like to go. So if you feel adventurous, feel free to contact me and you can come along!
Stay Tuned
