Aiming to Keep You Informed
October 2, 2020
From the Office
We are so excited to have a return date for Middle School students who wish to attend in-person learning! Next week, we will share cohort groupings and student A/B designations with students and families who chose In-Person learning for their child in preparation for October 13th. While we know that the cohort model isn’t ideal, but necessary given the current health guidelines, we are hoping that the transmission rates continue to trend in the correct direction and will soon allow for more movement and mobility for students attending in-person!
Thank you to everyone who already submitted the survey responses indicating your child's choice between In-Person and Remote Learning. If you have not had the chance to complete the form indicating your child's preferred learning model, please use the link found in the Return to in-person learning document linked here and shared on 9/30/2020. Please remember to complete the form by October 5th.
Yesterday, we shared a document with recent Questions & Answers regarding In-Person Learning. We know that you may have additional questions throughout the school year as it relates to In-Person and Remote Learning. Please submit any further questions here and we will do our best to respond in a timely fashion to you and/or share them with all parents/guardians in a continuously updated FAQ document.
As mentioned by Dr. Bartelt in his message to parents today, many of the procedures and protocols related to In-Person and Remote Learning in District 13 will be made available on the District website and updated frequently.
MAP Assessments: Parent MAP Letter
This week, 6th and 7th graders began Fall MAP testing. 8th graders are scheduled for 10/6. Make-up testing for any students who missed the test date has also begun and will continue next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!

If you have any concerns or questions, please contact your school’s building nurse for assistance (Westfield Middle School nurse is Beth Jones bjones@sd13.org) Please scan, fax, or drop off hard copies of medical documents to the school. We are unable to accept photographs of medical documents. Thank you!
