HUSH: write, act, compose, record
Now in its fourth season and open for writers and actors
By invite only, but find out how you can be involved
#HUSHpodcast is a part of an original sci-fi podcast series written, composed and performed by secondary students. Students in grades eight through twelve write the scripts, compose and play the music, create the sound effects and perform the roles. HUSH episodes are then uploaded onto iTunes, Google Play Music and Stitcher. (Podcast episodes have been downloaded over 23,000 times!) Includes StoryArk Network Live! where fellow student podcasters, filmmakers, poets and authors share their work with each other and professional artists.

StoryArk Network Live!, February 22, 9 AM to 4 PM at the Grand Banquet Hall, Stillwater
StoryArk's student groups gather to share their podcast episodes, short films, comedy sketches and short stories and enjoy each other’s company as fellow artists at the beautiful Grand Banquet Ballroom in Stillwater from 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, February 22. Executive Producer Lily Percy Ruiz from On Being with Krista Tippet (podcast), Sundance filmmaker E.G. Bailey (film), and Young Adult author Jacqueline West (short story) will discuss with students the fundamentals of their particular storytelling medium. Students will learn how writing for podcast, film and prose are similar and different. In addition, each student group will share their narrative and discuss with each other the themes of the story and the technical details that helped create it. The day will end with a variety show where each group will share their podcast episode, short film, filmed sketch, or short story with family and friends. All creative work will be made available on the StoryArk Network webpage, podcast, mobile app and YouTube channel.
Our goal with HUSH is to provide as professional an experience as possible to students. Students work with industry writers, actors and directors who help them skill build. In addition to developing writing skills, students gain knowledge about industry standards, develop acting skills and learn how to work on a creative team. Join us as we begin to develop Season 4 and return to the Geyaabi tribe as they struggle to create a home in a new world.
Tuition: $260 per six month session paid by check made payable to StoryArk on the first class; OR, pay via PayPal $46/month (or what you can afford ~ scholarships are available, and no one is turned away for financial reasons.) Tuition includes HUSH and all other programming opportunities offered at StoryArk including Saturday Supplements nurturing key storytelling skills.
