Elon seniors planning to student teach in 2014

  • Fall workshop series designed to help you learn more about the tools associated with your school system staff account (see tools for workshop topics below).
  • Sessions will be hands on, and you will have time not only to learn and explore, but also to create actual activities, webpages, and resources to use in your classroom now and next year.

When and where?

Starting Wednesday, October 16 right after Fall Break running through Friday, November 22 just before Thanksgiving

Choose a time that fits with your schedule. In a given week, the same topic will generally be repeated in different session time slots. Come once a week or come more than once and continue to practice and share what you've done with others.

Wednesday afternoons - Mooney 206 - BYOL (Bring your own laptop)
  • 1:30-3:00pm
  • 3:00-4:30pm

Thursday afternoons - Mooney 202 Mac lab (BYOL and/or use lab computer)

  • 4:10-5:20pm

Fridays - Mooney 202 Mac lab (BYOL and/or use lab computer)

  • 10:40am-12:10pm
  • 1:30-3:00pm
  • 3:00-4:30pm

  • Taking advantage of the tools can enhance your students’ learning and your own productivity as a teacher while you are working in area schools and make you more marketable for the future.
  • While you can learn this stuff on your own, learning together with the support of peers and "experts" and committing a time each week to do it will make it easier and more fun.
  • Now is a better time than when you are actually in the classroom - learn the tools ahead of time and build your toolkit to draw from when planning lessons.
