A MESSAGE FROM MR. LUCITA

Dear Jaguar Band Families,


We are getting close the the Christmas Break; however, we are not slowing down! This week we have several items of which to pay close attention.


After school practices! You should have received information specific to your student's band or ensemble concerning after school practices this week. With the concert happening on Saturday, every group has practice outside of the school day. Please check with your student or the band calendar for details.

Region recordings are to be submitted by Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. All students auditioning have received a hyperlink specific to their audition. We wish each of them the best of luck in this process!

Solo & Ensemble registration is due before we leave for the Christmas Break! This means all students attending UIL Solo & Ensemble must make their solo selection as soon as possible! The solo books are available for students to view before school, after school, lunch, Jag Time and during advisory!

The Christmas Concert is this Saturday!! Please be aware that, although we want everyone to attend, we must keep in mind our COVID protocols during this concert. The concert will be held outside, students will be socially distanced during all performances and students will wear their Jag Band Face masks during the performances! We request that all spectators follow these same protocols. Please wear your mask and maintain social distancing while at the concert. We request that you bring a lawn chair; however, there are a limited number of benches and outdoor tables for families to use. Also, please note that Johnson HS will be closed to spectators. The band students will be allowed to enter to obtain and return their equipment for the concert only.

They do a mobile spirit night only due to COVID. Thus we must order via mobile, but every mobile order for pick up, drive thru and curbside ALL DAY counts toward our fundraiser.

Volunteers needed and decorations requested for Christmas in the Courtyard!

Dear Jaguar Band Family,


Our winter concert is coming up and we need your help to make it special!


We will be decorating for our Christmas in the Courtyard on Sat. December 12 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Please sign up to either lend or donate items that can be used to decorate and sign up to volunteer!


For decorating, many hands make for light work - so please come help set up! Come and go as you are available. Students are also welcome and board members will be available to sign NHS/NJHS forms for time volunteered.


If you are going to lend decorations or extension cords, please label them with your students first and last name so that we can make sure to get them back to you. You can send items with your student this week and it will be stored in the supply concert or you can drop off items on Saturday at 10 a.m.

  • Check out the new Johnson Band Spirit Gear! JB Band Merchandise is now in stock! Check out our online store for performance style caps, hoodies, long sleeve t-shirts and short-sleeved t-shirts. Both long and shirt sleeve t-shirts are available in a large JB logo and small JB logo style and have "Buda, TX" down the back.

Rookie Corner

This section is for all new (Rookie!) parents! Here we will focus on various points of information that we believe would be helpful to families in their first year with the Jaguar Band.


Parent Section Leads!

Your "Parent Section Lead" should have contacted you or will be contacting you soon! These parents will be available to you as a first source of information! This will be a great way for us to not only improve our lines of communication but to build relationships in our Jaguar Band family during a challenging time - something that is usually easier to do when we are all seeing each other so often during a regular "Bandtober"! So keep your eyes open for an email from your Parent Section Lead!


Volunteer !

The end of marching season does not mean the end of volunteering! In fact, we will start preparing for the 2021 marching season this Spring, so please know that we will be reaching out via email soon! Or better yet, let us know if you have any particular interests by filling out our Committee Interest Form!


Communications

The band directors and boosters primarily rely on Charms to communicate information. Make sure your information is up to date in Charms. Reminder that the Jaguar Band school code is: JohnsonJaguarBand

Spirit Wear: online and at football games!

The new hats and spirit gear are now available for order via our website.


We have a soft-style and trucker style hat available along with two new t-shirt designs and an ultra-comfortable long sleeve hoodie shirt. Items are in stock and will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis with additional items being ordered at regular intervals. Orders will be available for pick up at JHS on Mondays and this information will be communicated via email.

The Johnson Jaguar Band depends in large part on the fundraising efforts of the Band Boosters. Sponsorships are a very important part of fundraising. Our Sponsorship levels have been updated, and we have a lot of exciting options for businesses AND families! We ask that every family please share this brochure with anyone you know that has a business. We are eager to help promote businesses in our community that support the Jaguar Band! A new addition to our Sponsorship options is the Friends and Family Level. This level offers various options for businesses as well as an option for band families: For $200, you can have your child’s name and graduation year on our band trailer indefinitely with the option to simultaneously add sibling name for an additional $100.
