Week 11 Reminders
and Celebrations Term 2 2021
From the Principal
Hi everyone and despite the chilly starts we hope you have all had a really great week!
Congratulations to all our Year Three's who made their First Reconciliation on Wednesday. The children were very excited and appeared to handle the whole experience really well. It was lovely to see them looking so proud of themselves and happy as they left the church :)
A huge thank you to staff who came along to assist us on the day; the priests who made themselves available and all our families who supported us by arriving on time and maintaining the church as a sacred space - it was really appreciated!
PP-Year 6 School Reports
Reports go online next Tuesday 29th June. While these reports give you information about your child and their progress, they are to be viewed as just one part of a much bigger learning picture. The development of a child's social and emotional skills are also so important. Everything we can do as parents and educators, to support children to be resilient, self-aware, empathetic, self-regulated, cooperative and collaborative kids, with a positive, growth mindset, will continue to set them up for success - in school and in life!
A reminder to please keep listless, headachy, runny-nosed, sick children at home. While we promote maintaining an excellent attendance record and we aim for a 95% or higher attendance rate for each child, when they are unwell, the best place for them is at home in bed. Being considerate of the health of staff and other students is important, as tummy bugs, colds and flu's can spread very quickly. Thank you to those parents who are always very mindful of this and do the right thing - it is very much appreciated.
Please be reminded that every time a child is absent from school the teacher must receive a note - either a hard copy note or an email, detailing the date of the absence, the reason for the absence and your name/signature. Teachers are required to follow these up with parents, however, parent cooperation is needed. Please resolve all absences in as timely way as possible, thank you.
Sincere apologies to any families who tried to book their child in to OSHCLUB for any of our Pupil Free Days. The State Partnership Manager of OSH has changed, and unfortunately new management has communicated that this service isn't available to us at this point in time.
COVID - Phase 5

Each book has 20 tickets and each ticket is $5.00.
Thank you to the families who have already collected a book to sell. We would REALLY appreciate it if we could find 13 wonderful families who would be prepared to take a book and sell these tickets as soon as possible to neighbours, friends and workmates to support our parish.
Please contact the Office if you can help and we take a note of your details and send the book home.

Social Worker PARENT REFERRAL and CONSENT FORM
School social workers focus on the student in the school environment and work collaboratively with principals and teachers to minimise the impacts of personal, family and school difficulties and, where possible, remove any barriers to learning.
With students as their focus, school social workers provide consultancy, advice and support to principals, teachers and other school staff and to families so that they can best meet the needs of individual and groups of children and young people. There is a strong emphasis on individual student and family counselling and support. This is an amazing opportunity for kids, staff and families and one we have wanted in our school for some time.
Please find below the Parent Referral and Consent Form to access our School Social Worker.
You are asked to read the procedure carefully and also note that Kylie only works two days a week. While she will do her very best to accomodate all family referrals, patience may be required as she prioritises her case load and allows time for observation visits, classroom support and playground involvement.

Many thanks to everyone who grabbed a desk at the Busy Bee.
