Lindsey Weekly Update
September 18, 2020
Message from Mrs. Bellan:
We are finishing another great week. Having the students back in person has been a sheer testament to the wonderful children you send us. Students have been so eager to learn and their enthusiasm and excitement for school are palpable. Students are doing a wonderful job wearing their masks and adhering to our social distance expectations.
Yesterday, I looked out my window during recess and saw a child-led yoga class happening on the front lawn. The resilience and ingenuity of our children is inspiring.
Third and Fourth grade MAP testing has been wrapping up this week and fifth grade will be completing this early next week. Virtual students have done this testing remotely this week. The teachers, students, and virtual parents have done an incredible job to implement this during our pandemic times! We will begin analyzing student results in the upcoming weeks and parents will be informed how your child performed. We will be in touch about the implications of the MAP testing for your individual child.
Every indication appears that we will have State Testing this school year. Our Third Graders will sit for the Fall Ohio AIR test in the area of ELA. We expect this to be administered the week of October 19th. Third, fourth, and fifth graders will also be assessed in the Spring. More information forthcoming; however, I wanted to be sure families were prepared that at this point we expect this to occur. I am unsure how this will look for virtual students; however, as soon as our district learns more, I will communicate this.

Please bookmark the form for easy reference. No paper notes will be accepted we are going all electronic. Thanks for your help in this process.
Given COVID-19, we are trying to make more of our everyday processes electronic and more efficient. These will replace the previous paper form we had.
Please note that there is an option for Lindsey students to ride a bus to Westwood so that parents can pick up all of their elementary-aged students at one location.
Should you have any questions about your child's bus route, please contact Cheryl Fowler at cheryl.fowler@westg.org or 440-729-0026.
MAP Testing
Please be sure your child gets a good night's rest and eats a nutritious breakfast on these mornings to ensure we have the best picture of your child's academic skills. Additionally, it is imperative that your child brings his/her headphones.
The in-person schedule is as follows:
5th Grade: 9/21 for Mathematics, 9/22 for Reading, 9/23 for Science.
