WEB LEADERS NEEDED!
Attention 7th Graders!
What is WEB? WEB stands for "Where Everybody Belongs". In this program, soon to be 8th graders are trained to be mentors for incoming 6th and 7th graders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are student leaders who guide the 6th/7th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during middle school. Do you think you have what it takes to be a WEB Leader? Do you think you would like to mentor other students at Wilson? If that is something you might be interested in or if you have any questions about WEB, please contact Ms. Fink at sfink@gusd.net.ELPAC Testing is coming on February 22nd!

Remote Library Book Check Out Available!
Use the Library Check-out with the following procedures:
1. Visit destiny.gusd.net to view available books
a. Select Wilson.
b. Select Catalog to look for a certain book or
c. Select Destiny Discover to browse titles
2. Complete this google form with your library book selections by 3 PM on Mondays.
3. You will receive a confirmation email on Tuesday that your books are ready for pick up.
4. Pick up books in front of the library Wednesdays between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Books are checked out for one month.
We will also have free books for you to take when you pick up your library books! Free books are always available to you in the foyer of the school.

Question of the Week
Question of the Week: While at school, we had a daily question of the day in the morning announcements. Since we are now in remote learning, we will have a weekly Question of the Day in the Sunday night call/email. Students/families can submit an answer. A correct response will be randomly selected and the winner will be announced in the following Sunday callout/email. By submitting a response, you are agreeing to having your name announced in the schoolwide call out/email.
Last week’s Question of the Week: In honor of Black History month, our questions for the month, will highlight Black History Month: Who is Maya Angelou?
The answer: Maya Angelou is an American poet, singer, memoirist, and civil rights activist. Maya Angelou once said, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” "On the Pulse of Morning" is a poem by Maya Angelou that she read at the first inauguration of President Bill Clinton on January 20, 1993. With her public recitation, Angelou became the second poet in history to read a poem at a presidential inauguration, and the first African American and woman.
