During the month of November, our focus word has been "safe".
Think about the last time you felt upset. Notice that even when you are just a little bit upset, you are focused on what you DON’T want to happen or what needs to stop immediately. When your mind is in a state of upset, emotional state, it makes you sense danger and puts its energy into stopping the danger, not into solving the problem. Focus on what you DO want. Be a model of self-control.
It is officially Fall and that means more time wearing hats coats and hoodies and Halloween celebrations with costumes and masks (not just the pandemic kinds)à sometimes LICE critters spread through those masks and costumes! Let’s work together as a team to always scan your child’s hair for these critters. We don’t want to share them!
If your child has lice or nits be sure to inform the school nurse. She has lots of good info on how to rid your child’s hair and home of these little bugs. Here are great resources on the internet for home education:
Great resources on the Internet:
www.licebattleplan.com à for your Lice Battle Plan Treatment Calendar
https://www.liceclinicsofamerica.com/one-cure-lice-treatment-kit/
- This link will take you to the Lice Clinics of America site. There are two videos on this page. The first video will give you an overview of the product. The second video will give you systematic instructions (it is about 12 minutes long). Please watch the entire video before starting the treatment. The treatment will take 60-90 minutes to complete.
Please remember SPS is a NIT FREE ZONE. If your child has nits (or lice) they need to stay home until they are NIT FREE.
The removal for nits is by far the best practice to avoid infestation.
