Happenings and Items of Note
Enjoy your day!
Dear Community,
If we are going to have snow, this is definitely the way to go. The blanket of pure white muffles the sounds and makes the surroundings feel so tranquil. Are you looking for something to do today? Here is a link to 25 Things to Do on a Snow Day.
Enjoy the snow!

CAPSS Superintendent's Student Award
Superintendent Drapp congratulates MacKenzie, this year's recipient of the CAPSS Superintendent's Student Award.
Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) Art Awardees
Diana participates in both the elementary concert band and the inter-elementary select choir. This year, Diana also auditioned for the annual Middle School Northern Regional Music Festival. She not only demonstrates strong music skills, but flourishes in the visual arts as well.
Madelyn participates in the elementary concert band. She is a motivated clarinetist and brings a sense of poise to the band program. In addition, Madelyn is an innovative thinker in the visual arts.
The award recipients from Goshen Center School, James Morris School, and Warren School joined awardees from other Connecticut schools at the CAS Elementary Arts Banquet on Monday evening. They were joined by their family members, Mrs. Birdsall, Mrs. Bills, Ms. Cook, and Mrs. Sweet.
We have a Northern Regional Band member!
Activity Night and Sports Clinic
On Saturday, February 11th, all 4th, 5th, and 6th graders are invited to participate in an activity night and sports clinic that will run from 5pm to 7pm in the small and large gyms at Wamogo. Run entirely by peer leaders from Wamogo's senior class, students will enjoy an evening of fun with organized team games and a schedule of activities. The price is $10 per student and concessions will be available for sale throughout the evening - the proceeds of which go toward student activities. Students should enter through the front of the building by the Wamogo cafeteria and can be picked up in the same place. If you are interested in chaperoning this program or have any general questions, please email Steven Bagley at Sbagley@rsd6.org

This event is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and features a full pasta dinner and a movie to follow directly after. The price is $15 per person with concessions for sale right before and during the movie, the proceeds will help support student activities. Come join your friends and peers for a night of food and fun! Dinner will be from 6:00pm until 7:00pm in the Wamogo cafeteria. The movie will start at 7:15pm in the auditorium. Pickup will be 9:15 in the BACK of the building. If you have any questions, please forward them to Steven Bagley at Sbagley@rsd6.org .
Community Service Award
The Secretary of the State, Denise W. Merrill and the Connecticut Citizenship Fund, Inc. will be recognizing students throughout Connecticut who have made a difference within their community. In support of this wonderful effort, Region 6 elementary schools will each recognize one student from 5th or 6th grade for this award. Students will be given additional information about the application process by their school principal.

Seeds of Dreams Seed CO
Created by the Warren School Fifth and Sixth Grade 2016
The mission of Seeds of Dreams Seed CO is to provide organic, raw, nutritional Harvest of Dreams sunflower seeds and reach out to help others in need. Through the purchase of the seed packets, our plan is to continue our support to local soup kitchens and food banks and to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) through donations raised.
This project was started and coordinated by 6th graders. All K-6 students are helping to weigh seeds and make packets.
We hope you'll support this project by purchasing seeds using this order form.
